I am Jaxx Steele, author of gay romance. I love magic books as a whole. It doesn’t matter to me if the character was born with it like in the Xanth series or whether the learned it somehow like Harry Potter. The mystery, the flair, the adventure hat usually goes with it…it’s all good to me. I couldn’t wait to do one. Unfortunately none of my character told me they wanted to be magical so I had to wait.

I am a slave to my characters’ will. As much as I may like something, if they are not feeling it I cannot write it. They refuse to let me force a personality on them and when I do they story never comes to fruition. Once I have a story come o mind and the characters for that story start to grow, they tell who they are. Once I know who they are they tell me what’s going to happen next. As the author I know the beginning, the middle and he end of the story, but it is the characters themselves that tell me how I get to those points.

I couldn’t have been happier when Cameron came to be. He had a rough social life. He was hooked up with a nut in his first real relationship. You know the type, jealous for no real reason, controlling, knows he’s not good enough for you so he tries to keep you away from people so you don’t notice what a dick he really is, yeah that guy. Anyway, although leery and cautious, Cam was not bitter and fearful about being in another relationship. So when Reynaud came along he didn’t run from the possibility of them being together.

Cam’s Best Friend tells the beginning of their story.

 Cameron Gamble was a simple man who ran away from an awkward life. He found a new city to start over in, a new job and the perfect best friend, Mel, a large chocolate lab. It wasn’t long before they were inseparable and Mel had a permanent place in Cameron’s heart. One night, as Cameron recovered from a nightmare, the bright light of the moon revealed Mel’s true nature. All was well in Cameron’s world from that day forth until his ex-lover showed up with the intention of bringing him home.

Reynaud’s Redemption is the continuation of their story one year later. With Reynaud’s magic restored this book has much more than glimpses.

Reynaud had everything he ever wanted with Cam and yet something nagged at him. He hoped going ‘home’ would ease his weariness, but it was apparent that things had changed during his absence. Friends had lost their places and enemies had gained power. Will the final confrontation with his past destroy everything Reynaud had in his present preventing him from having a future with Cam?
